Michelle Zachry, MPH, RD, LDN
Michelle earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Science from Auburn University and completed her dietetic internship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She then earned a Master of Public Health from the University of Florida. Michelle has been a Registered Dietitian for over 20 years, working in a variety of both clinical and non-clinical settings. Her areas of specialty include Geriatrics, Weight Management, Bariatrics, Wellness and Prevention, Renal Nutrition (both CKD and dialysis), Diabetes Management, and Pediatric and Adolescent Nutrition.
Michelle is passionate about empowering others to better understand the impact healthy eating and general nutrition education can have on one’s life. Having always been curious about nutrition and eating to support a healthy weight and active lifestyle, nutrition was an area of study she was guided towards early on. This is part of what drove her to acquire a certification of training in both Adult Weight Management and Childhood and Adolescent Weight Management in her career as a dietitian. She has witnessed the transformation people can make in their lives when provided counseling, encouragement, direction, and trust between a provider and client.

Michelle knows food is good for the soul. She enjoys learning and experiencing food traditions in different cultures. Food is universal. It can connect people, family and communities. Food can also be personal and emotional in so many ways. Michelle loves to learn what different foods or meals mean to her clients. Achieving your goals may take some sacrifices but Michelle believes in tailoring your diet plan to what you, the client, finds most important. She believes that healthy eating doesn’t need to be about what you can’t eat but it’s about what you can.
